North Carolina v. Tennessee Valley Authority (W.D.N.C.)
Counsel on litigation team for State of North Carolina in air pollution enforcement action against Tennessee Valley Authority. Obtained favorable rulings on motions to dismiss and summary judgment as well as after trial. Involved in trial preparation and support, and post trial briefing.

Environmental Defense v. Duke Energy (U.S.S.Ct.)
Represented Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Adirondack Mountain Club as amicus curaie parties. Favorable unanimous ruling of U.S. Supreme Court obtained.

U.S. v. District of Columbia (D.D.C.)
Lead counsel for Clean Water Act enforcement action addressing unlawful discharges and other violations at the District of Columbia’s Blue Plains wastewater treatment plant. Obtained settlement which included significant penalty and important improvements to maintenance and operation of plant.

U.S. v. Quaker State (W.D. Pa.)
Lead counsel for multi-media Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and Clean Air Act enforcement action. Settlement terms included substantial civil penalty and important measures to abate environmental problems associated with alleged violations of law.

U.S. and Pennsylvania v. ALCOA et al (E.D.Pa.)
(Moyer Landfill Litigation)
Counsel for Superfund cost-recovery litigation involving over 150 parties. Resulted in cost recovery of over $36 million.
