| Leah Silverthorn joined Hunsucker Goodstein & Nelson PC in 2008. Ms. Silverthorn practices in the Environmental Litigation and Regulatory Actions practice areas.
Her practice involves representing both public and private clients in federal and state court on matters relating to environmental liability, remediation, and redevelopment of contaminated properties, as well as defending clients in administrative agency proceedings. Ms. Silverthorn has significant experience in matters involving the remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater, including petroleum, PCB and various solvent-related contaminants. Ms. Silverthorn’s environmental litigation experience includes conducting all forms of pre-trial discovery, including depositions and discovery motion practice, preparing and arguing substantive motions, preparing witnesses for trial, and conducting direct and cross examination of witnesses at trial.
Prior to joining Hunsucker Goodstein & Nelson PC, Ms. Silverthorn was Counsel for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), focusing on Indiana's Underground Storage Tank laws, Federal and State Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) actions, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) issues, and solid waste permitting. In addition to her government service, Ms. Silverthorn was also a litigation attorney representing not-for-profit organizations on various environmental issues. |
